The only reason I've wrote the last 3 posts "off topic" is because I really hate where we're heading -- insecurity that is... and not only... so I was expressing my concerns the best way I can, even tho' it has a "conspiracy" aroma that doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't true but also that doesn't mean that they are true.

Let's recap, i was a bit disappointed by the article and i have been too harsh. I'm fed up with conspiracy theories. Seeing those in a website i like was somewhat upsetting, and well, i was tired. My apologies.

Anyway, i won't have a discussion with you on why those conspiracy theories don't stand. It's pointless so I will stick with Noam Chomsky on this one: This is a lot of energy lost that could be put to use on real issues. When people fight over the fact that the planes crashed on the WTC or not, they're too busy arguing to deal with the consequences of the event itself. From this, you can even deduce that the people in power (who are not limited to the government) encourage such theories to divert the attention.

"Don't believe anything" is no better than "accepting everything".

France is a shadow of what it was before. The right wing is sold to the financial interests and the left wing is, well, in a mess. As for the population, i don't know, fed up with everything and everyone is the only description that come to mind.

No, I haven't discovered this this week or even this year, expressing opinions is a good thing, because of people like you, others stop talking about things that really matter, which is "the people".
And another thing... I really have big hopes in France as the nation which is giving the "start" for a revolutionized thinking, am I wrong with that?!

Regarding the oath: I haven't served in the army, however I believe you did, my point is that in the army(and not only) they are kinda' brain washed "an order can not be questioned -- or something like that" -- I ask you now: how will an officer question if the order is constitutional or not?! the first thing one should do is to ask IF his actions can(or will) lead in hurting civilians, if so, then he should arrest the leader and get him in army court. Let's "not" mention how many innocent people died in Afganistan because soldiers did NOT think about the consequences they just followed the order.

They simply need to be voted out of office..." -- if you steal a sandwich from the supermarket you can do time because you stole something worth $ 10, however a politician that steals or wastes people's money will be treated as a kid with Down syndrome and say: "he's an idiot... politicians...", I say NO!! enough with the BS, serve hundreds of hours in jail for that so that other will learn not to mess around with the money that ware made by hardworking citizens.

Regarding the Nobel Prize, it's a total f*** up, it's simply unreal... how can one that is almost starting war in North Korea win the Nobel PEACE Prize?!

I'll preface this by mentioning that I have 2 brothers on active duty in the US Marine Corps. Our military is filled entirely with volunteers. They *are* the government. In fact, when sworn in, all military personnel declare an oath:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Their duty is ultimately to defend the US Constitution, but they take their orders directly from their military officers, who take theirs from the President of the US. My point is that anyone that enlists in the military has even less of a right to betray the policy of the President....because they swore an oath to uphold it, unless they believe it is unconstitutional; in which case they have the right to sue the government and go to military court.

On a side note, I am an American and I still don't understand how Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize (apparently it's the "not George Bush" prize).

I disagree. They simply need to be voted out of office. In the US, we recently had "mid-term" congressional elections. Meaning that every 2 years, every person in the House of Representatives is up for re-election (435 seats). A portion of the Senate was up for re-election (they serve 6 year terms).

The result of this recent election is that many of those people that voted for government bailouts of private corporations lost their jobs. Voting is our recourse against politicians we don't agree with.
