I totally agree that we're investing or maybe wasting a lot of time and energy into matters that are unverified or incomplete, but let's be real, history has shown us that masses are manipulated using "confusion" as a weapon, basically, people are bombarded with all kinds of theories and false information that they don't know what to believe or what to make out of it -- in my opinion that's the whole point.
After reading your comment(very carefully), I've came to the conclusion that all I'm doing is just throwing gasoline on the fire which isn't my goal at all.

You're English is very good!! had no issue in understanding anything.

I will try not to be aggressive, and if I do please blame my english and the fact that's the second time I write this comment. First of all, the only reason I write this post here, when I would ignore it elsewhere, is that i DO care about this blog as it helped me a few times and there's a few delphi related tricks you can't find anywhere else. That's also why I'm writing this, you're a programer ffs, technically a scientific guy, and yet, you seem to accept things based on guts instead of hard cold facts.

I won't try to get you on 9/11, even if it's tempting, others have done that way better than i could do (as they are engineers and scientists in the related fields) in websites like debunking911.com. Your claim about WikiLeaks would be amusing if you weren't ignoring the group's history that began way before the massive diplomatic leak. Moreover, what were you expecting to learn from semi-secret document from embassies except something that more or less everyone suspect already? It's not super secret stuff from CIA. More than 100k people already had access to those documents.

But hey, I know how pointless it would be to attack these points. Moreover we agree on the main point: that the medias try to divert to attention of the population from real economical, social, political issues. So let's these specific concerns slide.

What annoys me to no end is all that conspiracy talk in general. Let me explain my point here. When people are fighting over the events of 9/11 - or whatever other conspiracy theory for that matter - a hell lot of talents and energy are spent there instead of dealing with the real issues we've spoken of earlier. Worst, it creates a divide between two kind of people who have roughly the same goals in the end. And the last and probably worst issue with this is this: Spreading all these unverified, non scientific theories that are frowned upon by the large majority of the population really harms the work of organizations (or citizen) who are putting real shady business into the light as the people in charge can easily accuse them of being another batch of 'tinfoil-hat-wearing-lunatics'.

Basically, and that's the 'funny' paradox in your post, conspiracy theories achieve the exact same result as the media you're denouncing. If I were paranoid, I'd say that those theories are put in place by the people in charge to achieve the goals I have just explained. But I am not, I just know that the world we live in is more and more chaotic.

I could go on by explaining the common denominators between all those theories, how the are created and spread, the logical fallacies you will find in all of them. But I fear that my english skill is lacking and I don't want to spend another 2 hours writing this comment while the data is available all over the internet (googling "about conspiracy theories" gives a few clues on that matter). Anyway, I know i won't convince you, it's not really my goal here anyway. The comment is aimed at the readers. But, no matter if you give any credit to this comment or not, I would strongly suggest you to read books from Noam Chomsky and Naomi Klein, both are skilled at explaining international relations and the role of the medias in detailed but easily understandable ways.
